Cystitis Relief

Me and my dog live in old, deserted mining colony…there's nothing around my house for miles and miles, accept few villages, nearest almost ten miles away. I don't have a car and a man who drives me regularly got his crashed recently. Normally this wouldn't be a problem as I rarely go anywhere. But, my female dog (12) suddenly developed cystitis. She was on treatment for her asthma few days ago and vet gave her antibiotics and something to calm her. She had terrible reactions about half hour later, with heavy panting and almost howling loudly, but he said that is normal and continued for three more days. I was so worry, but that pass. And now this. I had to call him again…he is a very difficult man to deal with, few times he suggested I put my dog to sleep because her age and he is rough in any way (swears a lot, few times he cursed my dog (she bit him when he was to rough with her). But I have to deal with him, as he is only one around here…for almost fifty miles, no other vet.
I called him. On my terror, his wife said he's on holiday and wont return for two weeks! And now I'm desperate. What to do? I called only other vet, very kind seventy years old vet for big animals (there's no other for small) and he was very nice and said he believes natural cures could help. I suppose his a bit "old way", but I do trust in natural medicines and I would like to give it a shot. I have everything he listed, but I'm still bit afraid to use it. Can anyone here help and check this list, tell me is it ok:
Cranberry juice capsules-2-3 time on day
Apple cider vinegar-1 tsp daily
Echinacea (nonalcoholic)-4-5 drops daily
Corn silk tea-about a cup to two daily
Yogurt-four tbs daily
Vitamin C
Vitamin B complex
Vitamin A
Vitamin E
Lots of clean water and this diet:
Half cup minced beef
1 cup white rice (boiled)
1 egg
1-2 tbs olive oil
Pinch of salt
2 tbs parsley finely chopped
I have to mix this all together, put in oven for 20min. on moderate temp.
When this food cools off, I have to put in vitamins.
But he didn't say how many…he didn't know the dosage for a small dog (she's around 13 pound (little more)). Anyone here knows how much?

I don't think there is anything potentially harmful here but your dog needs more vitamins and minerals that is provided here. It is very unfortunate that you have to put up with a foul mouthed uncaring vet. Is it possible as you live so far away to speak to a vet that is far away and ask for a telephone consultation with a vet as to what he recommend you do and if necessary pay for it via the phone using credit card – seeing how far away you are. Then ask your local vet to do it or give you the correct medications. That is the only way I can see you will get any help. Other than that if your dog is suffering please don't prolong it but don't let this local vet put your dog down if the other vet gives you another option to try.
