i have the following symtoms, which 6 different doctors and specialists have so far not been able to cure, much less diagnose. 1) constant discomfort like i have a uti, but tests show i don't. 2)frequent urination, sometimes up to 20 times in 24 hours. 3) have to push to completely empty the bladder. one doctor said get a hysterectomy and bladder tuck (i have uterine prolapse and a cystocele), but a second doctor said no surgery, my symptoms didn't indicate i should have surgery. i've had bladder hydroextension which has ruled out cystitis. also, no yeast infection. anyone else have these symptoms? what is this…anyone know? what tests, if any should i have next? would an mri be called for? i have been taking detrol la for over a month, and using premarin every other day….so far, not effective. would appreciate any help or suggestions…thanks.

The cystocele is likely what is causing you to urinate so frequently. Ask most women, as they get older they urinate more frequently. STOP pushing when you void-your bladder or uterus could fall out! This is no joke, it happens, and all that pushing is making it worse. Just void normally, no pushing. Stop drinking fluids a few hours before bed time. They use to do surgery at the first sign of a cystocele, but now they dont feel it should be done. (probably the drug companies had something to do with that decision). Try a second opinion, and research your problem.
