I have Intercystitial Cystitis and would like to know if prescription meds can cause flareups?
I would like to know if the medications I take every day Hydrochlorithizide & Diovan could possibly be causing my daily bladder inflamation -(Flare ups)
I would also like to know what the best pain medication is.
It can be increasing your need to pee, if this is the same thing as Diovan with HCT. I don't think it would increase the pain levels, though.
I find that the thing that works best for me is the Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride, which is in Azo and Uristat, both available over-the-counter, the stuff that makes your pee orange. I think that you aren't supposed to take these long term, so talk to your urologist or gynocologist (whoever is treating your IC) if you need something for a long time. For some reason, even things like morphine don't seem to help me as much as the Uristat. Go figure. However, if you need a prescription pain pill, many doctors aren't too afraid to try Ultram. It's not the best, but it's not bad, either.
My female cat has been diagnosed with Cystitis AGAIN! What should I do?
