by July 5th, 2009. Filed under: male uti symptoms.
First off I just turned 19, I’m a male and am perfectly healthy. However, all of a sudden 3 days ago, I started having very frequent urination. It wasnt like I peed normally each time I went. USually I pee, then 2 minutes later I pee but a few drops come out. and i feel the drops inside of me and they make it uncomfortable. Then a few minutes after that I have more than a few drops of urine but not a normal full amount of a stream. Also when I go to urinate those smaller amounts, it takes me like 30 seconds of concentration and relaxation to let it come out(hesitation). Im scared as to what this could be, and I made an appointment with a urologist for Wednesday. My parents think of me as a hypochondriac and are saying I definitely have a urinary tract infection. I looked up the symptoms of a UTI and I dont have pain during urination, no blood, and no pain. I dont have an STD because im not sexually active. This is really freaking me out because it just started out of nowhere one night. Its an annoyance, but Im scared about serious diseases such as cancer (Carcinophobia) Thanks
You’re probably OK, you just have an overactive bladder. I’ve always been that way, but it has gotten worse over the past few years. I’m 34 years old, and I take Detrol for my bladder trouble. I was peeing 7 times an hour, now I can go 1 or 2 hours without having to pee. The key is to get yourself checked out, you most likely do not have cancer. You’re going to have to cut out all soda, and carbonated drinks. Caffeine can make it worse as well. Some medicines cause this trouble, so if you are taking prescription meds, ask your doctor if they might be causing this trouble.
Please tell me this isnt prostate cancer im only barely 19!?

You might have a UTI…you dont always have blood in the urine or burning when you have a UTI. Go to the doctor

Relax until you see your doctor.
You may have an enlargement of the prostate – but that is highly unlikely at your age.
It is likely an infection which will cause frequent urination as you describe.

Try malignant hypertension, extreme neurotics can develop it as early as 19, it used to be 100% fatal but is treatable now. Makes you pee like Frusomeide, a treatment drug when your kidneys fail.

It won’t hurt to have a physical, see your doctor. Talk to him about it, he knows more than the people on here.

If there is no pain or no burning sensation when you pee, it might be an infected or inflamed bladder or prostate. Best have it checked out. Antibiotics should get rid of it.
