Cystitis Relief

I’m 18 yo male, for about 1yr i had an irritated urethral opening, i didn’t have any symptoms of UTI or anything, i would only experience a burning sensation after masturbating occasionally. Last week i began to have a burning sensation when urinating, i was starting to think i had a UTI, few days went by, the burning got worst, took over the counter UTI test – first was positive, second and third were neg, i took first asap, second before bed, and third after waking up, last night i woke up twice for no reason and had slight chills and -slight- lower back discomfort ; made a doc appt. for next day; told doc i thought i had a kidney infection, she tested urine, came back neg. she said i was clear of bladder/kidney infec because i didn’t have many leukocytes or pus; she did an STD test just to rule any of those (which i seriously doubt i have) those will not be back in until a few days! I’m feeling miserable, i have occasional nausea, slight testicular pain, urge to pee, slight burning sensation, and lower back discomfort?! I DONT have vomiting or fever. Can anyone tell me what’s wrong?!

The lower back pain sounds like something going on with your kidneys; The nausea may be related to the testicular pain, are they swollen at all? The urge to urinate and the burning sensation sound like UTI, so I’m surprised that your test came back negative- I would consider going back in and getting re-tested. Meanwhile, LOTS of fluid, like, 4 liters a day ( I know that can be hard with the urge to urinate so often). I would really recommend going back in, and be straightforward, give them a list of your symptoms ((maybe emphasize your worry about the back pain) and say that the last tests came back negative, but you would like to be seen and tested again; if they say you’re still negative, ask them about the possibilities of taking pyridium- that should help relieve your symptoms,
