UTI Remedy Report

Please tell me this isnt prostate cancer im only barely 19!?

Im a healthy just turned 19 year old male. On friday afternoon i started having these weird symptoms. I began urinating frequently, however in very small amounts. I also started having urinary hesitancy. It can take a minute or more for me to get urine flow. My dad has threatened to kick me out of the house (jokingly) because I keep talking about this. He says i have some kind of infection at worst (i sure believe and hope so). Anyways, i wish i could be ok and relax thinking its a urinary tract infection, but ive got no pain or blood in urine. I dont have an STD because im a virgin. Im scared enough to have made an appointment for tomorrow with a urologist. Im hoping its either a bladder infection of some kind or a UTI without pain or blood (dont even know if its possible) I as a hypocondriac researched this for the past 2 days. Im way too young to either have an enlarged prostate or prostate cancer, however i have the hesitancy, urge to go frequently with little urine coming out, and no pain! these are some of the symptoms of prostate cancer and or enlarged prostate. I dont want to lose any more sleep from this, can anyone help me with reasons this cant be prostate cancer and how im just overreacting? Thanks so much!

Only rarely does a UTI cause bleeding, and you can sometimes have a UTI without pain. There are also many other things, such as stones, that could be the cause of these symptoms that are not cancer. The likelihoo of someone your age having prostate cancer is very slim.

By the way, Rx used in the answer above, means prescribe/treatment, and I agree, you will most likely get antibiotics from the urologist tomorrow.

Is this Ghonnorea or Chlamidia (spelling DX)?

I’m 99.9 % certain your Urologist will tell you it’s an infection and Rx you an antibiotic.

Could be a small renal calculus (kidney stone) blocking your urethra (tube from the bladder to the outside). See the urologist tomorrow, I am sure you will be fine.

Try to relax. The Doctor will examine you & make an evaluation. If it is some type of infection, he will prescribe some type of antibiotic to clear it up.

Although I am female I had a problem with the tube running from my kidney to my bladder which took years to find and after having surgery at the age of 5, spent most of my childhood with a UTI. I am experienced enough to know that a UTI does not always cause pain. I have had multiple occasions when I have been diagnosed with a UTI and I have had no symptoms at all.

Also, being that you a hypochondriac (a good friend of mine is one too), you tend to make up symptoms. My friend was convinced once that she had popped out her ear drum. There was nothing wrong with her and she was given ear drops for several months….nothing worker but one day she just stopped complaining about it. There was nothing wrong with her. She made the pain up. Being she was so scared (she had put a q-tip in too far….that’s what caused this) she made up the pain….her nerves created a pain that didn’t exist. This is common for hypochondriacs so your symptoms, though real to you, may merely be something you accidentally made up.

So, in my opinion, don’t worry about it. Chances are it isn’t anything to worry about.

You most likely have a urinary tract infection. You may also have either a bladder or a kidney infection. I seriously doubt that you have prostate cancer….Your doctor will most likely give you medication that will clear it right up…
